Are all of your THC pods kicked? Are you a nicotine vaper that’s looking to give vaping THC a try? It is a lot more convenient and less messy than smoking, after all.
If so, and you’re not really that familiar with the world of THC vaping, here are a few things to keep in mind when looking through THC pods online.
Know What You’re Getting
First off, just because it’s a THC pod doesn’t mean it’s what you want. There is more than one form of THC.
If you’re just thinking of THC as the compound that produces the familiar psychoactive effects associated with flower, what you’re thinking of is Delta 9 THC, also known as D9.
There are two other types of THC that are commonly available, being Delta 8 and Delta 10 THC. Both of these produce much more mellow effects than D9. Delta 8 is stronger than Delta 10 and in larger concentrations can produce a mild euphoria, but both are much weaker than D9.
If you’re looking at a listing for THC pods online, this should be clearly marked, either in the product description or in the ingredients.
On THC Pod and Vape Pen Compatibility
Depending on what vape device you already own, you may not need to buy a new one.
For instance, some companies sell JUUL-compatible pods that will work just fine with your current JUUL. Some of these may even be refillable.
Another common type is a 510 vape cartridge or “cart.” If you have a vape device with 510 threads, you won’t need a new one, just get some 510 carts filled with THC vape juice.
Choosing a Strain
Without getting into too much details about hybridization and strains, there are three main categories of cannabis strains: indicas, sativas, and hybrids.
In general, indicas generally produce relaxing, sedative effects that may be able to help with discomfort and anxiety. Sativas generally produce more uplifting, mentally stimulating effects, and some users claim this is good for socialization or creativity. Hybrids offer a mix of the two, which can vary according to the specific hybrid strain.
Go with Full-Spectrum If You Can
Some THC pods may be filled with full-spectrum extracts or cannabis oil which contain a rich mix of cannabinoids instead of just one isolate.
Full spectrum THC concentrates and extracts are believed to produce more potent effects than just isolates because of what is known as the “entourage effect” in which the different cannabinoids work better synergistically.
Look for Lab Reports
Even if you don’t know what you’re looking at, the disclosure of third-party testing and lab reports means that the THC pod’s contents have been independently tested and verified.
